MSM - Methylsulfonylmethane (a natural sulfur compound) - an odorless, tasteless, white water-soluble substance.

MSM is a nutrient that has many functions in our body. MSM is involved in the growth of healthy skin, hair and nails. Natural sulfur is a "beauty mineral", it keeps hair shiny, skin smooth and complexion youthful. MSM helps restore skin elasticity and gives energy. Increases the permeability of cells, so the absorption of nutrients and oxygen improves and the outflow of toxins and waste products from the body accelerates. Good treatment results have been obtained for skin problems and allergies.

MSM is necessary for the creation of connective tissue and cartilage and for joint mobility. MSM ensures enzyme activity, immune system function and hormonal balance. In the past, we got sulfur from food, but as food is grown, stored and processed, the nutrient content along with sulfur has been greatly reduced. MSM is especially effective when combined with foods containing vitamin C.

MSM helps with the following ailments:

  • Acne
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Stress
  • Circulatory disorders
  • Inflammations
  • Swelling

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Fluid retention
  • Kidney problems
  • Liver problems
  • Leg cramps at night
  • Backaches
  • Joint pains

Additionally:

  • Increases cell vitality
  • Helps regulate insulin production
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Improves memory
  • Reduces fatigue after sports

MSM can be consumed in the body for 12 hours, so it should be consumed twice a day in the morning and evening. Start with smaller amounts. MSM goes to the place in our body where the need for it is the greatest, use from 1-2 weeks to 2 months to see better results. Our store sells Raw Gaia MSM cream, face scrub and beauty spray. Use for at least 30 days for better results.

What is MSM and how is it obtained?

Raw Gaia MSM is sourced from sustainably grown Canadian pine wood. MSM is a by-product of vegetable oils obtained during oil refining.

The Raw Gaia brand only uses suppliers that provide plant-derived MSM. They are unique because the process of purifying MSM is through a process of steam distillation, resulting in completely pure MSM (an alternative is crystallization and filtration, which does not make the substance as pure). The purity level of Raw Gaia is 100%.

Most MSMs are produced from fossil carbon, that is fossilized plant material, or petrochemicals. China is the main producer and most people use MSM of petrochemical origin because it is cheaper. However, this means that MSM is not as pure, it is less useful and less recommended for those who think ethically like Raw Gaia and their clients.

There are very few suppliers that offer plant-based MSM.

How to prove the purity of MSM?

For this, 2 tests can be done. The first is the biocarbon test, which is used to test the carbon content of MSM raw material. Freshly obtained plant raw materials show a high carbon content in the dust test because the plants take in carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, in contrast to fossil plants, which do not contain carbon because they have not respired and photosynthesized. It is then the biochar test that indicates the origin of the substance that the suppliers have used to create MSM from the biochar feedstock.

The second test is to test the MSM itself and its purity. Purity can vary between 99.33% and up to 103%, based on calculations made by laboratory technicians. Raw Gaia MSM is 101.9% pure. If the raw material is pine wood, the lignin structure of the trees is broken during paper production. This lignin was a methoxyl carbon, which is a type of carbon. However, MSM is also obtained from the seeds of oil plants. It gives the same herbal component as previously obtained in pine trees. The component is reacted to give DMSO, which is one step before MSM, so to speak. The supplier goes through an oxidation process that creates MSM, which is then purified and distilled, that is, the MSM is turned into a gas and then cooled, which, once cooled, is completely cleaned of raw material waste. Many other manufacturers use a crystallization process to purify MSM, but it does not purify as well.
