Description

Irish moss has been called a superfood because it contains a lot of mucus substances that protect the digestive system, sulfur compounds, proteins, iodine, bromine, beta-carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc, polysaccharides, pectin, vitamins B12 and C, antioxidants and antiviral substances.

Irish lichen affects almost all mucous membranes in the body. This sweet and salty seafood softens tissues and helps with many respiratory problems, relieves dry coughs, helps to expel phlegm, relieves colds and sore throats.

Carrageenan also soothes the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, helps relieve several digestive conditions such as gastritis, indigestion, nausea, heartburn, and is used to prevent vomiting. Irish moss has a mild laxative effect and absorbs toxins and waste products from the body. Irish moss is rich in iodine, so it is suitable for normal or slow thyroid function and iodine deficiency.

Irish moss also reduces appetite because it gives a feeling of fullness, increases energy and burns fat. It works well on the skin because it relieves sunburn, repairs chapped skin, can help relieve dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. Prevents premature aging and wrinkles. In Ireland it is found to be suitable for pregnant women as it promotes good amniotic fluid and for nursing mothers to increase breast milk production. However, we recommend that you consult your doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Usage:

Mix 30g with 350ml of water. Use as a thickener in making desserts, ice creams, milkshakes, cream, pies. Successfully replaces other thickeners such as agar-agar, pectin, soy lecithin, tapioca and corn starch. Rinse 3 or 4 times. Soak in the refrigerator for up to 6 hours, and if you are in a hurry, 2 hours with lukewarm water. Change the water at least twice to filter out the deposited sand and pebbles. At first there is a characteristic smell of algae, but once the moss has soaked, the smell and taste are almost gone. The moss is ready for use when it is creamy, white in color and about 2 times larger than before in weight and volume. It is also widely used to make home beer so that it remains a beautiful clear color.
