Paraffin candles are never guaranteed to burn completely, they only burn in the middle without melting at the edges. Paraffin candles also release carcinogenic compounds into the air, and it is especially bad if such candles are burned in bad ventilation conditions or in a humid room. After using paraffin candles, rooms should be very carefully ventilated. Paraffin is very cheap, hence the cheapness of these candles.

Paraffin candles release the most CO2 into the air and therefore leave the largest ecological footprint.

Candles made of stearin, soy wax and beeswax are more expensive, but healthier, because they do not contain substances dangerous to the body. They also do not emit harmful compounds into the environment and do not damage the ecosystem. These waxes burn at a lower temperature and for significantly longer. After burning the candle, there is no need to ventilate the room, and these candles also do not cause headaches or leave stains on clothes. Natural candles are given that "right" smell by essential oils, which have been attributed healing properties - they are antiseptics and clean the air of your home from viruses and airborne fungal spores. Palm oil is obtained by pressing oil palm fruits, which is a renewable raw material, but the price is higher, and hence the higher price of palm wax candles.
