Description

Shea butter has a characteristic rich nutty aroma and a light yellow color. At low temperatures, it is solid, but melts easily in the hand with just a few movements. The butter is extracted from the nuts of the African shea tree, also known as karité or butter tree. The locals consider the tree sacred and the oil released from its nuts has been used for decades to protect the skin from the sun, wind and dry climate. The tree itself can live up to 200 years and only begins to bloom after 20 years. Traditionally, its fruits are harvested only by women, who then extract the butter from the nuts.

Why do we call shea butter a "superfood for skin and hair"?

Today, shea butter is recognized worldwide and widely used due to its rich composition, which contains valuable fatty acids, vitamins (A, D, E) and trace elements. It deeply nourishes, protects, supports regeneration processes and helps restore the structure of the skin and hair. Organic shea butter, recommended for mature skin or dry and damaged skin and hair, helps reduce fine lines, heal minor wounds and restore skin integrity. Interestingly, it has also been used to soothe insect bites.

How to use shea butter?

Its uses are countless, starting with the most common one – as a nourishing cream for the skin. By melting a small amount in the palms, you can use it directly as a body butter or mix it with coconut oil in a water bath to create a softer mixture that you can store in a jar for convenient use. Shea butter is suitable for softening rough skin or treating chapped lips. It can be used for massage or to soothe the skin after prolonged exposure to the sun. Together with baking soda and a few drops of essential oil, shea butter can also be used as a cream that fights unpleasant odors caused by sweating. When used in hair masks, it helps protect against harmful effects, adds shine and strengthens hair.
