French sea salt or Celtic salt, fine, 500g

French sea salt, or Celtic salt, comes from the island of Ile de Re, which receives an annual award for the cleanliness of its shores. The salt is extracted by naturally drying seawater in clay-bottomed lakes. It retains many minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc and iodine. This salt has a high moisture content, a characteristic grey colour and a mild flavour.

French sea salt is hand-picked from the Atlantic coast. This salt is unrefined and therefore retains all the naturally occurring minerals. It has a lower sodium chloride content (83-87%) than other types of sea salt. French sea salt is perfect for salads and stews with fresh vegetables.

Flake salt is obtained naturally by the evaporation of seawater under the influence of the sun and wind. The water is evaporated until the crystals take on their characteristic flake shape. The crystals of this salt can vary in size, from larger pyramidal flakes to thin flakes.

Recommended use: in any dish where salt is usually added.
