Psyllium Husk, 150 g
€63.67 /Kg
Psyllium Husk (often called psyllium husks or tea leaf seed husks in Estonian) is a natural soluble fiber that is mainly used to support digestion. It has several proven benefits.
Main benefits:
Relieves constipation. Psyllium binds water, making stool softer and bulkier, and helps the intestines to work more regularly.
May also help with mild diarrhea. As it absorbs excess water, stools may become firmer.
Supports gut health. Fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria and helps maintain normal digestion.
Helps lower cholesterol. Regular use can reduce LDL or "bad" cholesterol levels.
Helps keep blood sugar more stable. It slows down the absorption of carbohydrates, which can be beneficial for type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance.
Increases the feeling of fullness. Therefore, it can support weight loss or weight maintenance when used in conjunction with a balanced diet.
How to use?
The usual dose is 5–10 g per day, starting with a small amount (e.g. 1 teaspoon).
Mix it with at least 250 ml of water or other liquid and drink it immediately.
It is a good idea to drink another glass of water afterwards.
What to watch out for?
Drink plenty of fluids. Without enough water, psyllium can actually worsen constipation or, in rare cases, cause blockage.
If you are taking medication, take psyllium at least 2 hours before or after your medication, as it can reduce the absorption of some medications.
You may experience gas or bloating in the first few days – this usually goes away as your body adjusts.
Overall, Psyllium Husk is a good choice for people who want to increase their fiber intake, improve digestion, support heart health, or help keep blood sugar levels more stable. If you have a narrowing of the intestine, difficulty swallowing, or severe abdominal pain for no known reason, you should consult a doctor before using it.
