Description

Essential oil obtained by distilling the dried buds (cloves) of *Eugenia caryophyllus*.

From organic farming.

*Eugenia caryophyllus* (Latin)

Botany:

The clove tree belongs to the *Myrtaceae* family. The tree can grow up to 20 meters in height. Its evergreen leaves are leathery and oval-shaped, and the flowers feature four pinkish-white petals arranged in small clusters. The well-known cloves (flower buds) are harvested before they fully open and are then sun-dried.

Origin and History:

The clove tree originates from Indonesia, specifically the Moluccas (Spice Islands). Cloves are mentioned in ancient Chinese and Indian texts. In Nepal and Tibet, the clove is known as the "flower of the gods," as it is frequently used in traditional medicine within the "land of the deities." Cloves were once among the most coveted spices—as valuable as gold.
