Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus)

The healing properties of eucalyptus, the tallest deciduous tree in the world, were first discovered by Australian aborigines. Eucalyptus played a major role in the fight against the malaria epidemic, due to its ability to drain the soil in swamps where malaria mosquitoes breed, and the mosquitoes did not like the smell of eucalyptus. Eucalyptus was called "tree of life", "gem of forests", "tree of miracles".

Eucalyptus essential oil contains eucalyptol, which is effective for colds, coughs and other respiratory diseases. A powerful antiseptic has a destructive effect on dysentery-causing streptococci, staphylococci, and reduces the growth of trichomonas and tuberculosis microbes. Inhaling the fresh and tar-scented essential oil of eucalyptus eases breathing in case of colds and sinusitis.
